Douglas A. Farnham was officially promoted to Brigadier General by Governor Paul LePage today. General Farnham was recently confirmed by the Maine Senate to serve as the adjutant general and commissioner of the Department of Defense, Veterans and Emergency Management.

Colonel Douglas Farnham received unanimous Maine Senate support to serve as the next Maine National Guard Adjutant General and the Commissioner of Defense, Veterans and Emergency Management. For the past three years, he was the wing commander of the 101st Air Refueling Wing in Bangor, Maine. He will later be sworn into office by Governor LePage.

Col. Douglas A. Farnham, wing commander of the 101st Air Refueling Wing in Bangor, received unanimous endorsement from Maine's Veterans and Legal Affairs Committee to become the next adjutant general of the Maine National Guard. Farnham's nomination followed after Brig. Gen. Gerard Bolduc, who was serving as an interim leader of the Guard, unexpectedly withdrew his name within a day of being nominated by Governor LePage in December 2015.
