The Summit was the latest milestone in the Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict Initiative (PSVI) campaign, which was launched in 2012.  Rape and other forms of sexual violence in war must be addressed by the international community, not only as a moral imperative but also as a matter
of fundamental importance to peace and security.
