Report: From Representation to Inclusion: Diversity Leadership for the 21st Century (March 15, 2011)

The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2009 established the Military Leadership Diversity Commission. In their March 15, 2011 final report, the Commission addressed 16 interrelated tasks, seeking feedback from the Department of Defense, Services, veterans, subject matter experts and the private sector. They hosted 13 public hearings. Diversity was found to be a strength of the military, but barriers exist to improve demographic representation among military leaders.
