Female Engagement Teams: The Need to Standardize Training and Employment
Category: Combat
In this March-April 2012 Military Review article, author Lieutenant Colonel Janet R. Holliday, U.S. Army, makes a case for the U.S. Army to formalize the staffing, employment, and training of female engagement teams. She notes that female engagement teams are not a new concept, first serving in 2004 as U.S. Army and Marine Corps "cordon and search teams" in Iraq. But, over time, these teams evolved into a more sophisticated tool.
